4 Nabbed After Stealing $12K Worth Of Merchandise From Long Island Macy's, Police Say

Four men are facing charges after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise from a Long Island Macy’s store, authorities said.

Officers in East Garden City were called at around 8:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, with reports that four men had stolen items from the Macy’s at Roosevelt Field Mall before fleeing in a BMW, according to Nassau County Police.

The men were spotted by police a short time later on Ring Road committing multiple traffic violations, police said.

After conducting a traffic stop, officers reportedly found $12,489 worth of stolen merchandise inside the vehicle. The items were later returned to Macy’s.

All four suspects were arrested without incident on charges of 3rd degree grand larceny. Police identified them as:

  • Wrallan Cabezas Meza, age 19, of the Bronx
  • Jose Garcia Escobar, 30, of Manhattan
  • Miguel Angel Rojas, age 21, of Manhattan
  • Rafael Rojas, age 27, of Manhattan

All four were arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead. Escobar and Rafael Rojas were released without bail.
